What can we do between Christmas and the New Year to improve our health?
I think the best thing we can do to prepare for the new year is to wind down and relax for these two weeks. The holiday season usually involves a lot of physical and emotional tension and we need to take some time to get out of that mindset consciously. Many of us are traveling and entertaining, which often involves us not following our routines. We eat what we shouldn't eat, we skip workouts, and we abandon our sleep schedules. 60% of adults in America have a chronic disease and many of these require us to follow strict routines to keep them in check.
Instead of waiting for the new year to get back on track, let's do it now, and let's use herbs help us do it! Let us prepare our bodies and minds for the new year, let us make our new year resolutions a new endeavor and not "to get back on track". I don't want to go into the new year with the added stress of just not feeling good, or even having a medical condition flare up, so I ask you to join me in my end of year wind down and let's get our bodies and minds back to a sense of normalcy.
Wind down activities:
Diet: Personally I need to focus on getting my snacking under control and eating real meals, maybe you need to cut back down on sweets, caffeine, or alcohol. Try adding a boost to your meals with nutritive herbs such as parsley, nettle, and chickweed.
Activity: Incorporating regular activity back into daily life - walking, going to the gym, cleaning the house, playing with children and pets. MotivaTEA is made to give you the energy and endurance to do these activities with herbs such as eleuthero root and raspberry leaf.
Sleep: Get that sleep routine back in check. I know it's not fun, but keeping a sleep schedule is so important for health and healing. A good chamomile tea could be just what you need to get a good nights sleep.

Relaxation and gratitude: Don't forget to take time daily to relax and think about what's important to you - journal, read, pray, meditate, stretch, take a bath, make a cup of tea with herbs like lemon balm to promote a stress free mind.
Relationships: Use this time to keep your relationships strong. Maybe you reconnected with family over the holidays and remembered how much you miss them. Use this time to keep the connection going - call, text, email, send pictures; just show them you are still thinking of them and want them involved in your life. Having good relationships in your life is linked to better health and higher healing outcomes. You can share your holistic health tips with them.
Don't forget the teas that can help you along the way!
